Cycling on Kattegattleden in Varberg

Kattegattleden is a cycling route that goes all the way from Helsingborg to Gothenburg, via Varberg. Take the opportunity discover the beautiful coastline around Varberg on a bicycle. The section of Kattegattleden that runs between Falkenberg and Varberg is 39 kilometers long and easy to cycle on. The surroundings give you beautiful nature with open landscapes and beaches. Closer to Varberg, you cycle past Apelviken, a beach that windsurfers love. The cycling route continues to Strandpromenaden (the beach walk) and past Varbergs fortress. You then reach Varbergs harbour, with the cold bath house Kallbadshuset and the park Societetsparken.

North of Varberg, Kattegattleden takes you and your bike along the coast and through stunning nature, smaller villages and cities. The landscape changes as you go north - cliffs appear and islands such as Balgö, Getterön, and Vendelsö. You can also visit the fishing village Bua harbour.


Historical cycling on Monarkleden

The Monark trail runs between Varberg and Kungsäter. It's a 40 km long cycle path with agricultural landscapes, forests and lakes. The final destination is beautiful Agnbäck by Lake Tolången. You start cycling at Birger Svensson's factory in Varberg - the founder of the famous bicycle brand Monark.
